WERA Operators Seminar - Get access to the WERA world!

This one-week intensive seminar is an excellent opportunity for potential users or for operators who already work with the WERA system and data on a daily basis to get to know all they need to experience about our Ocean Remote Sensing Technology.

The first two days of the seminar concentrate on the understanding of the physics and technology behind WERA and will give an overview on the system hard- and software structure. Furthermore the basics for site planning will be explained to enable users or consultants to carry out future site planning.

The third day is reserved for the introduction to the software tool box. This lesson will be continued on the fourth day with showing examples for using these tools for quality assurance and trouble shooting.

On the last day the whole group will go to a WERA site at the German north sea coast to carry out some practical hands-on training including trouble shooting.

Venue
Kaltenkirchen is situated north of Hamburg within a 40-minutes taxi drive distance to Hamburg airport. Hamburg could easily be reached by public transportation to do some sightseeing or shopping.

Site Visit
The first WERA site in Büsum was the main component of the German Ocean-Monitoring System OMS. Three systems are now operated by Helmholtz Research Center in Geesthacht and are part of the Coastal Observation System for Northern and Arctic Seas COSYNA. We will visit a WERA site on Friday. The site is 1.5 hours drive to the North Sea coast. Transportation to and back from the site will be organised by Helzel Messtechnik. Should you book your flights back home already on Friday, please consider this journey time back from the coast.

Seminar Fee
The seminar fee is € 800 per person. This fee includes the transportation to the WERA site, lunch, refreshments and coffee. For consultants, we also offer the possibility to book only the first 3 days for a reduced fee of € 500. We offer this seminar for free for up to two persons per WERA user.
